The Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) most recent recommended daily calcium intake.
Dietary Reference Intakes for Calcium and Vitamin D, November 2011.
Women who are 51 years of age and older should get 1200 mg of calcium and 600 IU of Vitamin D per day. Women 70+ should get 800 IU of Vitamin D per day.

National Institutes of Health (NIH) guidelines on daily calcium intake.
Women ages 51+ should get 1200 mg of calcium per day.
Men 51+ should get 100mg of calcium per day.

National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) Clinician's Guide to Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis (2014).
The NOF, in alignment with the IOM, advises that men ages 50-70 get 1000 mg of calcium daily. For women ages 51+ and men ages 71+, the NOF recommends 1200 mg of calcium per day.
